AbstractWe determined influence of standard complex treatment on superficial skin microflora of adult patients with atopic dermatitis. 75% of the patients had signs of increased bacterial colonization of unaffected skin with usual types of bacteria. Standard treatment did not influence substantially on quantitative and qualitative content of superficial bacterial microflora of the skin. Skin sites neighboring to lesions were colonized with increased number of bacteria in 90% of the patients. Number of staphylococci, gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria and streptococci was increased. Standard treatment equalized bacterial colonization of neighboring and distant from lesion skin areas.
